SPCA has done NO wrong euthanizing surrendered pets
I believe this video will reflect everything I've wanted to express in words as to whose fault it really is for the increasing number of pets given up and euthanised, please watch:
http://www.borntodiepets.com/html/doctor_death_video.htm
SPCA Singapore gets about 800 surrendered animals every month. It's impossible to keep all of them in shelters due to several limitations and constraints. Don't give me nonsense about shelters with "NO KILL" policies cos I personally have been rejected everytime I have a pet that needs a place to stay. At the end of the day, my friends and I have to fork out our own money too look for fosterers.
This may explain more, enjoy the truth..
The No-Kill Shelter Myth - Courtesy of RSPCA (S.A. South Australia) 2003 :
The Concept of a "No Kill" animal shelter is one that we have all dreamed of and place high on the list of our goals. The "No-Kill" concept is plainly and simply a marketing concept for those shelters advocating this policy often to the detriment of animals and the other shelters struggling to do the right thing.
A "No-Kill" shelter has a very selective "selection process" of what animals it will accept through its doors and will only take those animals it knows that it can rehome. Thousands of other animals are turned away and end up in Council Pounds or other animal welfare shelters that it will take sick , injured , aggressive and old , unsocialised dogs and cats - this is done knowning fully well that the only fate for a large % of these will be PTS.
The "No-Kill" Shelters have made it extremely difficult for other animal welfare agencies to fundraise effectively and retain a strong staff and volunteer base.We all know that the worst job in any shelter is euthanasia and the public will rather donate to an organisation that appears to be rehoming all those in need. In Truth , these organization are helping less animals and placing more strain , financially , emotionally and physically on other shelters.
In the animal welfare industry euthanasia is a horrible necessity as there will always be animals that cannot be rehomed , by reason of their health status or temperament. "No-Kill" Shelters , are shrugging off this responsibility, fooling the public abd accepting the credit for - sending an animal home to a new owner. The Focus needs to shift away from our euthanasia rate and the emphasis put on being able to rehome more animals either by ways of education, establishing the suitability of dog/owner relationship , basic obedience training and healthcare. By concentrating resources and energies on these outcomes it will automatically reduce the number of animals needing to be euthanised - "A Kill Less Policy"
It's the fault of irresponsible owners, the failure of public education on ethics and responsibilities.
Do not acquire any pets out of wimps and fancies. Read up a lot about the particular breed that you intend to get, and be fully prepared to face any kinds of unexpected events that has concern with your doggy. To you, they're animals, but to them, you're everthing.

Finally! This old lady finally got to post my comments successfully.. haha..
Oh ya.. I Got so emo after watching the video.. i really hate irresponsible pet owners..
On a more cordial note, doesn't your statement, "Do not acquire any pets out of wimps and fancies. Read up a lot about the particular breed that you intend to get, and be fully prepared to face any kinds of unexpected events that has concern with your doggy." contradict your comment that I need enlightenment on why "NOT ALL dog owners in Singapore fall under your perception of stupid and crazy pet owners"?
Certainly you have done ample research (i.e. enlightenment or education) on the breed of your dog before giving him a home?
Hi kommandos,
of course you still need enlightenment and I saw no contradiction in my statement cos I have never agreed that ALL dog onwers in SG are stupid and crazy.
Yes I proudly say that I know almost everything about Malamutes before deciding to adopted when we were persuaded by the owners to do so. I made sure my family learns about his breed too.
Till date, I'm still reading up and learning a lot on the health and nuitrition of dog.
There's one quote you must have missed on my blog on the right side bar.
"Don't try preaching me unless you are confident I'm able to be convinced, or you'll just appear an idiot to me."
I'm so sorry if I appear rude by saying this;
That's exactlty what I feel about you. Making absolute claims...
Great job Gen! Some people jus like to be smart aleck!
YEA, I was told by a friend from the UK that "everybody" wants to be experts whe it comes to dogs.
*rolls eyes*
I hate it when people come telling me cranks things and attempt to correct any facts I say.
expert?? Nah.. ASSpert mayb...
It's ok, Genevieve.
Been dumb most parts of my life because I was concentrating on trying to be nice.
Unfortunately I stumble along the way by making incorrect statements and meet people who think they have the right to be not-so-nice and play English language expert.
Really, don't take this as preaching. Keep up at what you do because your sorry state really gives dumb people like me a lot of encouragement.
=)
Well I'm glad stupid people live their lives happy through misinterpretations and stupid assumptions.
Glad you feel encouraged. Keep up your stupidity and die with it!
