I've always wanted to buy my own flute but am afraid that I do not have time to practice on it. Have tried Yamaha in the early years, followed by Azumi, Altus then Miyazawa flute. I don't really remember the brands of piccolos I've played but nevermind, that's not important now.
Back to topic, I fell in love with Miyazawa the moment I played the 1st note! Everyone loves it! The tone is just.. WOW. Combination of rich + subtle, I don't really know how to describe it in words. I was lucky enough to be the the 1st to use the newly arrived then. My juniors were asking me to pass it down to them when I step down cos it was the only Miyazawa in band!
Now the thing is, Miyazawa flute doesn't come cheap. The cheapest 1st-hand Miyazawa flute costs more than SGD$3k - I can buy another doggie with that! Altus flute falls between the same price range too. Azumi is about $2k (The only reason I like it is because the brand name sounds like 'Ayumi'), and Yamaha.. hahahaha, you know the price.
Let me show you the physical beauty of the Miyazawa I like. Please please please click on it, it's very, very very very very very very BEAUTIFUL!
Presenting Miyazawa Boston Series:

She's really a beauty isn't she? But NO I'm not gonna get that. Cos it's about SGD$30k. I can buy a van with that!!!!
I may settle with a Yamaha flute until I can afford a cheaper Miyazawa after I've graduated.

30k? It better be made of endangered animals for that price! If it doesn't do chores, and mate with other flutes to make more of itself, it can't possibly be worth it!!
Wow, you can play the flute, how cool :)
I like your new blog header. Nice :)
Chris: LOL!!!! You are always hilarious!! Yea if only they breed!!
Janice:
