Random Update

School have been keeping me busy lately. I haven't gotten much time to be alone in solitude.. which in other words, it sucks cos I can't find time for myself! Jo calls me a loner and an anti-social for that! LOL.

Well everybody loves to be around friends, I do too. However, I do not see the point why friends should cling onto each other 24/7. Eat together, go to the washroom together, wait for each other at the bus-stop.. blah blah blah..

I'm on very friendly terms with everyone I know in school (except for a cheap slut whom I have never spoken to). And guess what? My best friend in school is almost EXACTLY like me! She doesn't see the point of fastening herself to a clique. Though we seldom meet/talk/text each other, we know that we have each other to count on whenever we need a pair of listening ear. Most of my schoolmates will know who she is, cos I have never appeared walking with anyone else more than 5 times in school.

Talking about the cheap slut, she did something SO SO SO despicable last semester. It's an attempt to get me into trouble with the school authorities. A failed attempt though. I wanted to report about what she did (cos lawfully it's wrong), but my tutor told me to let the matter rest, in case I'll still meet her in my tutorial group next year. So coincidentially, she happens to be in one of my TG. This slut doesn't even dare to make eye-contacts. Shall share the full story next time.

I've gotta go stuff myself up with energy food now. I really do not know why I'm doing this. I'm going for the Nike Human Race later. I haven't even trained! In the past month, I swam only twice, and jogged only once. The rest are they usual short jogs/walks with Caesar, which are cheesy as compared to serious training.

I know I can continue all the way if I want, but question is, will I faint? I know 10km to many is no big deal, but that's what nearly happened throughout my history of long distance running! LOL. Because of the lack of training, Hubby's giving me an allowance of 1.5hr to complete the race! Haha, double his usual timing.. *how dare he look down on me* But cos of me, hubby will not be jogging at all I guess it can be completed in 1.5hrs with his march pace. Now I feel a lil pathetic.. I have a feeling I'll be the slowest!!

Whatever it is, I know it's gonna be a torment cos I'm not physically prepared at all.. Why am I doing this to myself!

Food Review!

Good food makes me happy. Actually, I'll rather spend on food than anything else. When it comes to any other things, I'll be very cautious spending money. Food wise? I always tell myself to not care about the price but just go ahead and enjoy the meal. When the bill comes, you'll not feel guilty at all cos you know you have enjoyed it a lot!

I forgot where this place is. Went in after collecting our Nike race packs.

Small small piece of Salmon.
I hate fish & seafood, but I do not hate this piece of salmon that much (meaning still don't fancy), cos it doesn't have that similar disturbing after-taste as other fish.

I'm a pork lover, always attracted to pork 1st. This dish was really really delectable.

Hmmm the taste still lingers...

PORK!! LOOOOOVE IT!!

Drinks!
Mine was called "Mango-apple Vinegar drink". It's not bad, very nice actually, but 1 glass will be enough. Very rich in taste.
Hubby's looked scary to me. carrots!! Omg what a horror. But frankly speaking, don't order "Orange Vitamin Drink". It tastes like Pokka can drink.

Deserts
I forgot what this's called.

It has.... honey

and ice-cream. Almond-flavoured I supposed.

and some eggie-thingy

The fillings.

Lastly... something really kawaii!

The deserts look cute and delicious right? Well they don't taste awful. Just, I won't order them again. Just eating for the fun of eating something so cute.

Not somewhere exactly for everyday dining though, this meal cost us over a hundred. But for curiousity's sake, you should give it a try! So shiok to eat cute things. I may go there to feast on other cute deserts when I'm free.

Animal Videos

I wasn't very surprised actually, everyone should love dogs!

Towards the end, you'll see a bear hug a dog! I'm not sure if it's an attempt to mate or something.. it looks like though.

How about a cockatoo with the sense of rythm when you don't?

Dog Show at EXPO

Photo of the day!

That's Caesar and a 4-year-old tiny friend! Both full-grown adults.

One of the biggest and tiniest you can find in EXPO today.

I decided to bring Caesar over last minute. Lots of familiar faces there!

Fly's larvae developing under your skin?

Most Singaporeans probably don't know about this fly - the bot fly. Interestingly, female bot flies actually capture mosquitoes and attach eggs onto them before releasing them. Eggs are then transferred from mosquitoes to human.

What happens next is, the larvae will develop under your skin and will only "drop out" when it's ready to pupate. It's hard to remove them from your skin cos they have tiny hooked spines on their body.

Chris told me his doggie once had 9 holes with larvae inside.. Poor girl!!! I can almost feel the pain whenever I think about it!!

Here's a video of an unfortunate guy who had 2 of them on his back. The duct tape was supposed to kill the larvae by cutting off their air supply. Personally I don't think it's a good idea to let them die inside (What do you think?). Some people place meat to cut off their air-supply so the desperate larvae will borrow holes into the piece of meat until they get to breathe.

This kinda reminds me of squeezing 'whiteheads' off your face, initially.

This is an interesting man with his bot-fly, named George.

Dining Out

What beats the company of your bestie for a quiet lunch?

Was out with Sihui to Soup Spoon on one of the afternoons days ago.

Went Ajisen for dinner with hubby on Thursday night. I think the portion got smaller! It's not as filling as before. Maybe I should boycott if it's really the same case in other outlets.

Bought a book to pamper myself during the agonizing 1.5 hour journey to home from school when nobody fetches me by car.

It's kinda draggy in the beginning, I hope the story gets better in the middle. Should've bought fantasy genre instead, I think vampires are pretty cool! They're the only fantasy I hope is reality!!

I've decided to get pets from the rodent family! Do you think I should buy or adopt? Cos you get conned when you buy, I mean, I always get a male and a female when I asked for the same gender. So what happened in the past was, I only realised they're of opposite genders after they breed!

And you know I've always been a supporter for adoption than purchase.

Rubayn told me gerbils are cuter but rats are smarter. Hmmm which one to get? The cute or the smart one?

Ok I guess the whole Anon issue...

should have a nice end. She just keeps on coming back and post messages that don't make Princess Genevieve happy. I've gotten hold of her unique IP address, and her page-load activities. Who's curious about her real identity behind the computer screen? I AM.

I've decided to engage the help of (some people) to track him/her down since I have ALL information needed, and the prove of harrassments.

Anon, if you are someone I know, you better tell me who you are before things turn really ugly. Try me, cos I don't need much effort to tear you apart. I can promise you that you won't want to challenge me any further.

If you aren't somebody I know, I probably won't give a damn about the consequences you will need to face. =) I WILL tear you apart.

You will have 24 hours to respond appropriately via email since you visit this blog 3-5 times a everyday since 17th August 2008. First of, I want a sincere apology.

Who's curious about her real identity?

P.S Two more hours before I decide to hand this case to the authorities the day after.

Before the real identity is exposed, let us do a lil bit of guessing!

I have 2 guesses.

1st possible identity:

  • Anon is a secondary school lil bitch, cos she doesn't visit my blog during school hours.
  • Maybe an innocent bitch from my friend's school.
  • May be a reader from my friend's blog.

2nd possible identity:

  • Anon is actually a "HE"!!
  • Psychotic "he".
  • fugly faggot who doesn't have anyone to love him.
  • He knows a friend of mine.

Whichever identity it is, won't it be exciting to have the picture posted here?

Tampon Tea

Good morning, here's something interesting to start the day off.

A vampire walks into a bar and asks the bartend for a glass of hot water. The bartend is a little confused but hands the vampire what he order. An hour later another vampire comes into the bar and asks for a glass of hot water. The bartender becomes more confused but gives the vampire what he order. A few seconds later another vampire walks in and asks for the same thing, a glass of hot water. The bartend couldn’t take it anymore and finally asked what it was for. The vampire pulled out a used tampon from his pocket and says, “It’s for my tea.”

Here a video how the tea is brewed.
*Warning: extremely nauseating, not for the weak stomachs, highly recommended for people diagnose with anorexia nervosa *

Embedding is disabled. Click here to watch.

I did felt a lil mawkish while watching, especially towards the end when the whole thing turns thick-red.

Great idea for costume parties.

Is she spinning clockwise or anti clockwise?

I received this picture from an email years ago and I thought it was a delusive image, cos I could only see it turning anti-clockwise no matter how many centuries I spent staring at it. It was until recently that I was able to see it turning in both directions when my brother showed this image to the family.

My family members saw it changed in different directions all at different timings! My brother can only see it in one direction. He's heavily a left-brainer.

I just wanna find out how many of you sees the right, left, or both!

I heard that this has a close relation to whether you use your right of left brain more. In Singapore, our education system requires us to work on the left side of our brains more frequently. I believe more students/fresh grads from formal school education are the "left-brainers".

This reminds me of optical illusions actually.

Clockwise: You use more of the right side of your brains.
Anti-clockwise: You use more of the left side of your brains.

*Study how the image changes. When you think the foot is pointing at you, it can also be pointing at the other direction, away from you! Try covering the body and look only the the two legs!

It's the same idea as the old internet explorer OR netscape navigator logo. Not convinced? Try looking at these with a group of people, you guys will see it change direction at different times! Don't focus on it too much or you can't see it change!

More! I think both pictures belong to optical illusions rather than a "brains tester". What do you think?

This is slightly easier to see it spin in both directions, as and when you like it to.

My electricity bill decreased from an average of $500/mth to just $150/mth

  • We still switch on the air-conditioners every night.

  • We still watch TV at the usual times.

  • We don't use candles to replace of light bulbs.

Being energy efficient isn't just about saving money, it's about saving the environment!! Do you know energy wastage has indirect effects to global warming? The polar bears are dying!

All my family members did was to do some minor alterations to our lifestyle habits and change some of the electrical appliances.

Here are some of the things we did:

Use energy-efficient electrical appliance the Energy Label

Image from the National Environmental Agency http://www.nea.gov.sg/

The number of green ticks basically reflects on the efficiency on energy consumption of the electrical appliance. More more information on the specifications of this label, click here.

But I have one thing to highlight. There's a common misconception about this label. It doesn't mean that the more ticks you have, the more energy efficient you are. Why? Electrical appliances that have more ticks are usually the bigger ones. Let say you need only a 300 litre refrigerator cos you don't buy much groceries but because it only has 3 ticks, you decide to buy one that has has a capacity of 500 litres cos it has 4 ticks? The 4-ticks bigger fridge consumes more electrical energy than the 3-ticks smaller one. So if you don't need the big fridge but you buy it because of the number of ticks, you are wasting energy because you don't need such a big one. Thus, you become energy-inefficient even though you bought an energy efficient home appliance.

In this case the energy efficiency is judged based on the comparison of refrigerators with the same capacities and features.

My family emptied 4 refrigerators and got a huge one for all the stuff we have. Save LOTS LOTS LOTS of money.

Air-Conditioners (Strategic arrangements & the inverter)

As you know, the air-conditioners are the main contributors to our overall electricity consumption.

We reshuffled the air-conditioners to a more strategic arrangement. As you know we have 9 bedrooms. 1 has been converted into a storeroom, 3 spare bedrooms for guests, and 5 other are normal bedrooms. We changed two system-2 air-conditioner sets(1 compressor, 2 air-cons) into a system-4 inverter (I'm not sure what's inverter though, but it saves more energy?).

Caesar's room's air-conditioner was a system-1, thus, very inefficient in energy-saving. One of the system-2 was installed in my room (the current store-room) and Caesar's room (We share a bedroom now cos Caesar hates to sleep alone - social animals)

Air-Conditioners (temperature)

Rule no.1: Never set the temperature lower than 25°C in this tropical climate. Some people set it as 16°C! Silly! Your room's temperature will never be that low (unless you have more than 1 air-con in a small room). 25°C should be comfortable enough. What's the point of switching on the air-conditioner and bury yourself under the blanket in your long-sleeved pajamas, shivering??

The lower the temperature, the more energy it takes to reduce the room-temperature. Sometimes, the desired temperature will not even be reached when you wake up in the morning. In another words, your air-conditioner has been using up a LOT of energy trying to cool your room further throughout the night.

Air-Conditioners - how to help reduce its "workload"

  1. Cool down the temperature of the room manually before you switch on the air-con.

While watching TV, open all the windows and doors of your room so that the air can vantilate.

  2. Make sure your room is well insulated.

My family bought door-sweeps from DIY stores to fix it at the bottom of the doors of our rooms to prevent cool-air from 'escaping'.

    Image from http://soundproofing.org/images/door_seal_c.jpg

Make sure your windows do not allow 'leakage' of cool air too.

Do not leave your door opened when the air-conditioner is switched on. Make it a habit to close it if you need to leave you room for a second.

  3. Use a fan on rainy nights instead of air-conditioners, unless you sleep with any close cousins of Caesar.

  4. Paint your walls with heat-insulating paint. (It works!) We use it in the rooms that are affected by the late afternoon Sun, as well as the ceiling (top-floor unit)

  5. Install window films to reduce heat radiation. This works miracles for houses that are badly affected by the Sun.

  6. Set-timers for air-conditioners. If you are waking up at 6am. Set the timer to stop the air-con from working 30 minutes before your intended time of waking up. The room will still stay cool for the 30-60 minutes as long as the doors are closed, especially in the morning. In this case, you won't forget to switch off the air-con too!

  7. Remove as many heat radiating things from your room. In my case, my parents removed the freezer, fridge, microwave oven from their room. I don't know about your rooms, but just remove if there's any.

  8. Blow-dry your hair in the bathroom, not air-conditioned room.

Refrigerator

  1. Do not over-clutter your refrigerator.

Over-cluttering causes poor ventilation, thus, it will be harder for the refrigerator to maintain temperature.

  2. Do not open the refrigerator door and just stare into it, or just to enjoy the cool air.

    Image from http://pro.corbis.com

That's what many people do. Make it a habit to think of what you wanna get before you open it. I forgot the readings on the E-Track device, but you spend quite an amount opening the refrigerator door.

  3. Wait for food to cool before storing them in the refrigerator.

I know some kids like to cool the boiling water in freezers. We don't really boil our water cos it's all been through reverse osmosis - super clean.

It's getting too wordy and I'm sleepy. So I'll just sum up the rest.

  • Do not leave lights switched on when not in use.

  • Turn off the computers and laptops when not in use.

  • OR turn off the screen (extend lifespan of screen too)

  • Reduce usuage on hair dryers.

  • Washing Machine, wash it full load.

  • Do not leave switches on stand-by mode

  • Make use of natural warm water (late afternoon/afternoon)

  • reduce usuage of oven (high energy-consumption)

  • Don't use the toaster just for 1 slice of bread! (energy inefficiency)

  • Do not switch on another TV if you are watching the same channel as others.

Will talk about the usefulness about the E-TRACK Device soon!

Try these ways out for a month, and tell me your change in electrical usage bill!!

You know why Caesar loves me don't you.

Love to capture his happy faces.. priceless!!

All for my baby and no one else!! He was so happy to see my surprise gift!

Can't wait for hubby's ORD dinner. Commandos in black! I have so many dresses in my wardrobe yet altered. Hubby suggested a new dress, but I guess he hasn't seen how many yet-worn clothes I have. I don't really wanna buy anymore clothes now..

Their theme is Mafia, any suggestions on dresses? I love white, 99.9% probability of wearing this colour.
