Seriously i dun get it?? What are our faults? We give them plently of shade and aircon when the temperature gets to hot for our mals. We walk them during the cool times of the day. We bring them out hiking. They are happy, healthy and well loved. So what are we doing wrong??? Do enlighten us??? I admit i've been involved with the breed for 10 yrs and im still learning. I speak to breeders from overseas and join mal forums to find out more. If you feel you know more then us do share. How we can improve our dogs life? Tell us what are we doing wrong???

And also some parts of america namely arizona, the summer temperatures goes much higher than the temperatures in Singapore yet the mals there still adapt well! So seriously what is the issue here?? Are we lousy owners??? because we dun have acres of land for our mals to run about or coz we cant make it snow in Singapore???

UNFORTUNATELY, you are speaking to an owner famous for being one of the most responsible you can find.

1st, my Caesar is a rescued dog from an abusive family. 2nd, just so you know, I wake up specially to walk or jog him at mid night, AND FIY as long as they're not exposed to direct sunlight for a long period. It's perfectly fine to bring them out. Some of these breeds even went to intentionally 'sun tan' themselves along driveways cos like most animals, we need sunlight.

Oh yea, 5 km is really nothing to Caesar and I. Wonder what makes you think he's being deprieved of exercise? He swims in the day when it's not suitable to run. Oh well, DAILY RUNS are not suitable cos my baby came to me with a deformed leg from a car accident.

I do agree that not all pet owners need to be educated, the already enlightened ones learn of the needs of the animals they care for by reading journals about pet health. The owners of the pets in the entry I posted unfortunately do not seem to be in that enlightened category.

While still on pet health, I hope your Alaskan malamute, Caesar is a second or third generation one successfully bred in Singapore to handle the tropical weather and not an import from Alaska. I also hope you bring him out for a bare minimum of a 5km run daily well before dawn and/or well after dark when the weather is cooler.
It is sad to see beautiful creatures like him suffer in the tropical climate and deprived of exercise and space he naturally needs.
