Fed-ex 弓长 = 张
Fed-Ex Commercial:
弓(gong)长(chang) = 张(Zhang)
I'm just a lil frustrated when I still realise MANY people DO NOT see the creativity of this commercial! It's not a stupid commercial (overheard from others on the bus), I thought it's quite creative OK!
The title explains it all!
The old man was saying "弓长的张!" and the delivery boy heard it as "工厂的张!"
Translation:
弓长的张: The 张 made up of two chinese characters 弓and 长.
张(Zhang, meaning in this video: Just a Chinese Surname)
弓(gong)
长(chang)
工厂的张: The Mr.张 (Zhang) from the factory (工厂: "gong chang")
弓长 and 工厂 sounds slightly different.
Boy: "哪一个张?"
Man: "弓长的张!"
Boy: "哪一个张?"
The boy didn't get it cos he heard it as "工厂的张". Which in his case, he's already been to the factory.
Of course you can argue about the point where there are also tons of Mr.张 in China... ... But I believe most you will have gotten my idea. Needless to explain further ya? Cos it only requires a lil bit more thinking
Watch and listen again (Ignore subtitles. They can't possible explain the literature behind it, or write it as "弓长的张" because it won't make sense to non-chinese literate people.) :
And I found this! Very FUNNY! DHL delivers WHATEVER. Who's able to beat them?
